When Rosie and I, his sister and brother-in-law, were working in Ilford, having returned from the middle east where our compound had been blown up by Al Qaeda, central London was bombed. It felt as though death was stalking us and I felt compelled to express my wishes through song, that should I be killed, Rosie would continue to lead a positive, brave and forward looking life. I hope the sentiment of the my song, 'Spread Your Wings' offers some comfort to those grieving for Simon.

As one who lived a practical humanitarian life, I am sure that Simon would want his family, collegues and patients to express their memories of him meeting the challenges of life head on, and being the best they can be for themselves and others.
